We consider that a democratic society is based also on its non-governmental sector. The bigger the number of associations is, the higher the indicator of democracy and participation is. Society needs non-governmental associations, because these express the voice of the people. Each organization is trying to express the voice of the group which it represents: youth, minorities, environment, science etc. By doing so, the chances to improve the present are bigger.
Official institutions sometimes are at distance from the needs of different layers of society. In our vision, non-governmental associations bring their contribution, by filling the gap between the needs of the people and the institutions which represents the citizens.
By our activities, Center for Dialog and Cooperation is addressed to youth. We want to explore and understand different aspects related to youth: what is the role of youth? Does it represent a distinct group in the society? How youth can influence the society? What young people can do for other young people? Before presenting part of our proposed activities, we would like to show you our main principles which are guiding our activity:

In the new context, influenced by globalization, we want to address the issues that arise from transformation of concepts. We refer here to concepts such as: citizenship, active participation, democracy, human rights, minorities or identity. In this new environment, these concepts are changing under different types of pressure. We want to develop projects and activities that will explore these issues, because only by understanding we can integrate in a constructive way the problems.
- Promotion of democratic principles
- Peace building activities
- Post-conflict dialog
- Intercultural, interethnic and inter-religious dialog
- Social responsibility
- Civil participation
- Support democracy and rule of law
