ACDC Romania participated between 01/11/2009 - 07/11/2009 in the project called “Media and youth” which took place in Kayseri, Turkey. Here is a short description of the project: The project aimed at taking together messengers of European Media Organisations’ members and members of local media in Kayseri, Turkey. The participants experienced the effect of media on European citizenship and youth during the project.

Main themes were “the place of media in European citizenship” and “is the media doing enough for all people?’’ We discussed under the standards of common training methods. A lot of youth and youth workers have taken part in at least one Training Course or a seminar about European Citizenship. What have the participants done after these courses in their countries, about European Citizenship and how could they use the media for expanding the European Citizenship? How the participants used the concept of European Citizenship in their projects? During this activity, we had the chance to discuss about these topics and future activities as well.

- In first day: effect of the radio in daily life and its place.
- In second day: accuracy and place of tv programs in our daily lives. We had live talk show in local TV channel about the TV role in our lives.
- In third day, we analyzed the place and effect of local and national newspapers and magazines effects. We had a debate with local youth about these effects.
- In the fourth day we divided all participants into groups and they took part in the works of local media organizations and each group had a Turkish responsible with them while they were working. They had a chance to show and share their press and media models with our media.
- In fifth day we discussed about accuracy of European media awards. We talked about issues and publications of European citizenship and European Union. We had a general evaluation and shared all outputs of Project by press releases and reports.
