Rome, Roma, Romanian
For the following period, we will apply together with our Italian partners, AIM GIOSEF, for Action 1.1, youth exchange, called “Rome, Roma, Romanian”. Short description of the project:

Rome, Roma and Romanian is a bilateral exchange between Italy and Romania that will take place in Lenola in summer 2009 with 6 days of intercultural activities, organised by AIM Italy (Interculture and Mobility Agency) and the ACDC Romania (Association Center for Dialogue and Cooperation). The group of participants will be composed by 14 youngsters from Italy including Italians, gypsies and 2nd generation of Romanian immigrants and 10 participants from Romania, including Romanians and Gypsies that have relatives or friends living in Italy.

The aim of the project is to address sterotypes about young Romanians and Gypsies living in Italy, as well as stereotypes among Romanian and Gypsies immigrants about Italians, and to enhance social inclusion among EU young citizens. The objectives are to identify different cultural perceptions, to raise awareness about critical aspects related to the impact of migration process and the effects that it has on nowaydays EU societies, to explore the image of the Other and to enhance tolerance through team building activities, non formal education ( CoE manuals). One of the results of the project will be the creation of a video clip related to social inclusion of minorities, tolerance and acceptance, wich will be used as a tool for promoting intercultural understanding for future projects in both countries, Romania and Italy.
